A couple things to note: Look how weak these teams are at small forward, and mostly at power forward as well. On the flip side, look how great all 4 of these teams are at point guard and at center (especially if I swapped Hansbrough as a center in place of Thompson).

Betting odds are a great guide to NCAA Tournament action. Unlike fans, who often ride the wave of media predictions, betting lines tend to be a bit more focused (though they too can get caught up in the wave). For example, VCU over UCLA is a trendy upset pick in Tournament pools.. but the bettors are not convinced. Meanwhile, the bettors say that Cal/Maryland is the closest matchup as opposed to one of the 8-9 games.
