Daily Bracketology: Two New Teams on Friday

Another day, another Field of 65. As you should know by now, I'm projecting the NCAA Tournament field on a daily basis for the rest of the year (except no Saturday's since there's little action Friday). This is a field based on how the tourney looks "as of this moment." For one-bid leagues, I simply include the conference leader at the time of publishing. In case of ties, I use my projected winner.

 

Arrows indicate a team that moved up or down based on last night's performance. (Just because a team won or lost doesn't necessarily mean they'll move substantially.)

 

Note on Friday's Movement: Nothing new in the Top 16.. but huge changes down at the bottom of the field. South Alabama's win over WKU pushes the Jaguars back into the Sun Belt lead.. and thus WKU drops out of the field. This opened up a spot for the Miami Hurricanes, who were 2nd in line coming into yesterday.. but Dayton blew their chance to reenter the field (losing to La Salle in OT). The main BCS league in action last night was the Pac-10 as Arizona, Arizona State, and Oregon all lost. Oregon's loss knocks them out of the field with a 6-8 league record.. allowing UMASS to reenter the tournament for the first time in a couple weeks. The Minutemen beat URI (their 5th Top 50 win this year) and join newcomer Miami as an 11 seed. Arizona's loss was especially beneficial for USC, who replace the Wildcats as a 7 seed. Check the arrows for other slight changes.
