Bracketology: March 12

The Bracketology field is based on how the tourney looks "as of this moment." Arrows indicate the amount of seeds a team moved since the last update. (Just because a team won or lost doesn't necessarily mean they'll move substantially though.)

 

Why should you care what I have to say? Did you know, last year I was considered to have one of the Top 2 or 3 brackets (depending on the scoring rubric) amongst 53 national experts including Joe Lunardi, Gary Parrish and the like).

 

Movement:

Previous update was March 9th (After Sunday play was completed). Arrows indicate movement by seed. Two arrows equals a change of two seeds, etc..

 

Most of the top teams have been idle the last couple days, so no major changes at the top. Gonzaga moves into the top 5 seed, and is on the verge of being a 4 if Florida St slips up. Texas A&M is the big loser of the week, falling to Texas Tech in the opening round of the Big 12 tournament. I still have them hanging on as a 10 seed, but their loss allows Oklahoma St to regain some position. (Note that this article is up before the RPI has been updated, and I'm assuming A&M drops to the 33-34 range of the RPI.. if they drop farther, perhaps I'll reseed them in the following update.) Chattanooga winning the SoCon mixes up the bottom seeds, as they seemed primed to play in the play-in game.  Cleveland St of course takes an at-large team's spot away, and allows WKU to get a 12 seed. (Lastly I'm going to bed before the Big Sky championship is finished, but I assume it will be Portland St).
