Bracketology: Siegel's 2011 Debut

January 9th, 2011

The weekly 2011 Bracketology field is based on how the tourney projects as of now. The field below is not necessarily who I think deserves to be in, but simply a prediction of what the committee would do as things stand. In late February, I release Bracketology updates more frequently as the season approaches crunch time.

Why should you care what I have to say? In 2007 & 2008 & 2010, my NCAA Tournament projections ranked in the Top 3 amongst 50+ national experts including Joe Lunardi, Gary Parrish and the like. Over the last 3 years, I've ranked 3rd overall amongst bracketologists by the Bracket Project.  (For whatever reason, my 2009 final bracket was rather weak.. not sure what happened. Can't win 'em all.)

Notes:

Arrows indicate how many seeds (not spots) a team has moved up or down in the past week. Teams in Green are new to the field this week. For now, conference champions are the highest RPI team until more games have been played.
