GameNight: Syracuse at Memphis

December 15th, 2008
Dec 20 2008 - 6:00pm

Editor's Early Preview (12/15):

Syracuse comes off a home loss to unranked Cleveland State, in which Cedric Jackson hit a miracle bomb to win the game at the buzzer. The Orange didn't deserve a victory, so the result was more than justified. The Cuse have been hanging on by a bare thread all season.. but that won't cut it against a Memphis squad that is probably under-ranked at 19th. Losing in OT at Georgetown is no shame, and I like the Tigers to reassert themselves here.

GameNight: BYU at Arizona State

December 15th, 2008
Dec 20 2008 - 4:30pm

Editor's Early Preview (12/15):

BYU has played one of the most embarrasingly easy schedules you'll ever see, so its hard to know what to make of this undefeated squad. A bad showing by the Cougars would be enough to undermine their previous 10 wins. ASU, led by future Top 5 pick James Harden, is trying to win one for a league that was without a single marquee win until Arizona's big upset the other day. The Sun Devils will struggle in this affair much more than their fans expect.

GameNight: Arizona at UNLV

December 15th, 2008
Arizona
Dec 20 2008 - 3:00pm

Editor's Early Preview (12/15):

A solid West Coast battle with a lot of NCAA Tournament implications, UNLV gets to host the Pac-10's Wildcats. Arizona's at-large chances skyrocketed after knocking off highly ranked Gonzaga, a win that will look quite good in March. UNLV has lost to their two BCS opponents (Cal & Cincy) so far, and could use a brand-name win to help secure potential multiple bids for the MWC.

GameNight: Temple at Kansas

December 15th, 2008
Dec 20 2008 - 2:30pm

Editor's Early Preview (12/15):

Temple pulled off one of the season's big upsets when they knocked off Top 10 Tennessee recently. The Jayhawks were on the wrong side of an upset, when they fell to UMASS in Kansas City. Temple is certainly capable of beating KU, who is simply too young at this point to be that dominant. This is a game with potential NCAA Tournament implications for both sides.

GameNight: North Carolina vs Valparaiso

December 15th, 2008
Dec 20 2008 - 2:00pm

Editor's Early Preview (12/15):

Its hard to imagine UNC losing a game before January 11th at the earliest (when they head to Wake Forest), and this game could get ugly. Valpo is just a ho-hum Horizon League that doesn't bring anything particularly exciting or interesting to the table. Another glorified practice for Roy's Heels.

GameNight: West Virginia vs Miami (OH)

December 15th, 2008
Dec 20 2008 - 12:05pm

Editor's Early Preview (9/15):

West Virginia's chance to make a splash on the national scene was hurt when Ruoff and Mazzulla were forced to miss their NYC affair with Davidson. Still, the Mountaineers have a great chance to return to the NCAA Tournament. Miami won't be able to make it as an at-large team, but they're a very dangerous squad.. especially when their 3 point shots are falling. These are two of the country's most well-coached teams.

GameNight: Saint Louis vs Liberty

December 15th, 2008
Dec 19 2008 - 8:00pm

Editor's Early Preview (12/15):

Curry the younger, Steph, leads a Liberty program that is poised for bigger and better things in the coming few seasons. The Flames almost knocked off Clemson on the road, so they won't be intimidated by a trip to Saint Louis. Billikens games can be hard to watch for non-fans, and they're best hope is that they bore the opposition to sleep.

GameNight: Mississippi St vs Cincinnati

December 15th, 2008
Cincinnati
Dec 18 2008 - 6:30pm

Editor's Early Preview (9/15):

A mildly interesting Big East/SEC Challenge affair featuring two middle of the pack teams. Cincy has been a surprising team early, but could find the rigors of the Big East play a bit more challenging. A win by the Bearcats against a mediocre Mississippi State team is a must if they hope to crash the Big Dance.

GameNight: Pittsburgh vs Siena

December 15th, 2008
Dec 17 2008 - 9:30pm

Editor's Early Preview (12/15):

Siena was supposed to be one of this season's darling mid-majors, but a disastrous showing in Orlando ruined any Top 25 chances. Now, barring a miracle, they'll just be another easy win for a Pitt team that rarely is challenged at home.

GameNight: Duke vs UNCA

December 15th, 2008
Duke
Dec 17 2008 - 7:30pm

Editor's Early Preview (12/15):

For Duke, its Final Four or bust this season.. and UNCA is just a small little pebble on their path to the postseason. The Bulldogs lost a ton of talent in the off-season and are in serious rebuilding mode. This will be blow out city.
