Last NCAA Appearance: 2005, Sweet Sixteen
Top Players:
Randy Foye, Sr, G, 20 ppg, 6 rpg
Allan Ray, Sr, G, 18 ppg, 4 rpg
Mike Nardi, Jr, G, 11 ppg, 2 apg
Kyle Lowry, So, G, 12 ppg, 4 apg
Allan Ray's eye injury is just another in a long line of Villanova setbacks.
The senior guard though should play in the Tournament.
Curtis Sumpter decided not to play for the Wildcats after getting injured
and will instead take a redshirt season. It was a smart move for him,
but bad news for the Wildcats as they get tired down the stretch. Jay Wright has shown off his four guard offense all
season against the best competition in the country. There is no reason to
believe that the lack of post players will be a concern. If the Wildcats
can match four guards up against the frontline of UConn and win, they can do
it against anybody and win. This is an experienced, battle tested team that
has their eyes set on Indianapolis.
