2006 NBA DRAFT PROFILE

NBA Draft: Justin Williams

College: Wyoming

Class: Senior

Stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=22585

Position: C

Height: 6’10”

Weight: 225lbs

Accolades: Third Team All-Jayhawk West Divison (JUCO) (03), Second Team All-Region (JUCO) (04), First Team All-Conference (JUCO) (04), Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year (05), Third Team All-MWC (05).

Scouting Report: A defensive stud and shot blocking extraordinaire.  His offensive game however is still very raw and unpolished.

Strengths: Shot blocking and altering.  Not uncommon for him to block 8 or more shots in a game.  Is a great leaper and can run the floor.  Also is an above average rebounder.

Weaknesses: Offense.  He is still very raw on offense.  Experience.  Having played his first two seasons in JUCO, he has only played two years at a high D1 level.

Projected 2006 Draft Range: late second round pick

Consensus:  Williams’ shot blocking and jumping ability will garner him NBA interest.  At only 225 pounds he will get banged around a lot if he is forced to play center in the NBA.  He is still a very raw talent offensively, but is definitely worth a second round pick to an NBA team willing to work with him.
