2006 NBA DRAFT PROFILE

NBA Draft: Sean Dockery

College: Duke

Class: Senior

Stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=11141

Position: PG

Height: 6’2”

Weight: 185lbs

Accolades: McDonald’s All-American (high school) (02), EA Sports High School All-American (02), Three Time All-State (Illinois) and All-Area (Chicago) honoree (high school).

Scouting Report: A solid, experienced guard capable of playing the 1 or the 2 spot.

Strengths: Experienced – played 4 years at Duke, averaging big time minutes his junior and senior years.  Good playmaker.  Solid shooter all the way out to behind the 3-point line.  Duke players normally turn out to be solid NBA pros.  Quick hands – gets his fair share of steals.

Weaknesses: Age – Dockery is 23 years old already, ancient by NBA standards for a rookie!  Played more 2 guard his last year in school, but will be too small to play that in the NBA.  Was never more than a role player at Duke – didn’t score, rebound or rack up lots of assists.

Projected 2006 Draft Range: Late second round – undrafted.

Consensus:  Dockery turned many scouts heads after his standout performance in the Portsmouth Invitation Tournament (draft prospect tourney) in April.  That plus the fact that he played four years at Duke will probably get himself picked by a team in the second round of the draft.  He could prove to be a very serviceable role player in the NBA.
