Former Temple Owl Mark Tyndale to Play in Australia

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University men's basketball standout Mark Tyndale has signed a professional basketball contract with the Adelaide 36ers of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). He will leave for Australia next week.

"This is a great opportunity," Tyndale said. "Adelaide made me a generous offer and (former Temple star) Rick Brunson said it is a really good league to play in."

In recent weeks, the Rise & Fall series has chronicled the progress (or regress) of college basketball's major conference teams. But if I equated each team to a civilization, I was mistaken. It is really the NCAA conference that equates to a burgeoning civilization or nation, each with its sometimes stable and sometimes rotating member states. Marking its milestone 25th year, the eight-team competition will return to Maui’s ocean-front Lahaina Civic Center Nov.24-26.

Temple Extends Contract of Fran Dunphy

Temple has announced a two-year contract extension for head men's basketball coach Fran Dunphy that will keep the Owls’ mentor at the University through the 2013-14 season.  Dunphy, who is in his third season directing the Temple program, guided the Owls to the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

 

Dayton's Roberts to Tryout With Two Team

The University of Dayton's Brian Roberts will be a bicoastal professional basketball player this in the next two weeks as he will play for two NBA teams in the Orlando and Vegas summer leagues.

Roberts will play for the Orlando Magic entry in the Orlando Pro Summer League July 7-11, and then Roberts will catch up to the Los Angeles Laker team that will play in the NBA Summer League Presented by EA Sports July 13-19.

Will Daniels Joins Bulls Summer League Team
