NBA Draft: Herbert Hill
![]()
College: Providence
Class: Senior
Stats: ESPN.com
Position: PF/C
Height: 6’10”
Weight: 240lbs
Accolades: First Team All-Big East (07), Big East Most Improved Player (07), CHN Most Improved Player (07), CHN All Improved Team (07).
Scouting Report: A late developer who exploded onto the scene in his senior year.
Strengths: Extremely hard worker with a good attitude. Capable low post scorer with a good hook shot. Good coordination and athleticism for his size. Good NBA size. Great shotblocker. Great rebounder, especially on the offensive end. Was one of the top players in one of the countries top conferences, the Big East, his senior season.
Weaknesses: A year older than other seniors – spent five years at Providence. Didn’t play significant minutes until his senior year. Turns over the ball too much for a post player. Mediocre free throw shooter. Can be foul prone. Still very inexperienced.
Projected 2007 Draft Range: Early second round pick.
Consensus: If Hill continues to improve as significantly as he did in college he will have a long NBA career. As it stands now his game and body still need work and he needs to gain more experience. However, with his reported strong work ethic and good size the chances of him becoming a solid NBA pro are good.
