IRVING, TEXAS - Senior Mario Boggan (Oklahoma State) and freshman D.J. Augustin (Texas) have been chosen as Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week for games of Dec. 4 - 10 in voting by a panel of media covering the conference. Boggan earns a league weekly honor for the third time after garnering rookie accolades on two occasions a year ago, while Augustin is selected for the first time.

Boggan averaged 22.5 points and seven rebounds as the Cowboys recorded two victories last week. The senior forward had 21 points and eight rebounds as OSU defeated Syracuse, 72-68, in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden. He followed with a 24-point, six-rebound effort in a win over Ball State (75-56) at the San Diego SLAM. He connected on 19-of-28 (.679) shots from the floor on the week and was 5-of-7 (.714) from the free throw line. He also had four steals, two assists and a blocked shot and was named MVP of the San Diego SLAM.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Augustin led Texas to its third straight victory over an Associated Press top 10 opponent as the Longhorns posted a 76-75 overtime win over No. 9 LSU. The freshman guard had a career-high 25 points, connecting on 9-of-16 shots from the field. He was 7-of-7 from the free throw line, with six rebounds, five assists and one block in 41 minutes. The rebounds, field goals and free throws made were all career-bests. Augustin has scored in double-figures four times this season.
