Barlow Shares Mid-Con Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI senior basketball player David Barlow (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Co-Player of the Week for his effort in the 74-57 win over IPFW on Saturday. He shared the honor with Oral Roberts’ senior guard Ken Tutt. It marked the first time in his career that Barlow has been honored.

The 5-foot-11 guard poured in a career-high 23 points to go along with seven assists and six rebounds in the win as IUPUI improved to 5-5 on the season.

Barlow hit 7-of-12 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. He also drained 6-of-7 at the charity stripe and collected two steals. He hit all three of his threes in the game’s opening 5:33, staking IUPUI to an early 11-3 lead. The Jags led the game from wire-to-wire and completed a season sweep of the Mastodons.

For the season, Barlow leads the team in scoring (15.3 ppg), assists (43), steals (21) and three-point percentage (41.7%). He currently leads the Mid-Con in steals, ranks second in assists and fifth in scoring. He has led the team in scoring six times this season, including eclipsing the 20-point mark on three separate occasions.

He has scored in double-digits in seven straight games, averaging 17 points per game during that stretch.
