Key Games This Week
Davidson at Charleston (Monday): Showdown in the Southern. Davidson is the
leader, while Charleston has won 14 of their last 16 to stay in the mix.
Louisville at Pittsburgh (Monday): Louisville needs a marquee win for their
at-large resume, while Pittsburgh is in the running for a top seed in March.
West Virginia at Georgetown (Monday): West Virginia is coming off their big win
against UCLA, while Georgetown is one of the hottest teams around.
Oklahoma State at Texas (Monday): Rematch of their classic, 3-OT game. The
Cowboys won another OT game this weekend, while Texas has lost two of three.
Santa Clara at Gonzaga (Monday): Battle for the West Coast lead. Santa Clara has
won seven of eight, while Gonzaga knocked off St. Mary’s over the weekend.
Kentucky at Tennessee (Tuesday): Crucial SEC East contest. Kentucky fell to
Florida over the weekend, while Tennessee has won 2 in a row with Chris Lofton.
Hofstra at Old Dominion (Tuesday): Both teams are tied for second in the CAA,
one game back of VCU. ODU has won seven in a row to get to 12-3.
Texas Tech at Texas A&M (Tuesday): Texas Tech is struggling, having lost five in
a row to move to 4-6. A&M is in first at 9-1, and has won 14 of 15.
Virginia Tech at North Carolina (Tuesday): Two teams in the running for first in
the ACC. Tech has lost two of three, while UNC has lost only three all year.
Georgia Tech at Florida State (Tuesday): Potential bubble game in the ACC. Tech
has won three in a row, while FSU just lost a heart-breaker to BC at home.
Southern Illinois at Missouri State (Tuesday): Southern Illinois has won seven
in a row, while Missouri State is looking to lock up a bid out of the MVC.
Michigan at Michigan State (Tuesday): Bubble battle in the Big Ten. Michigan has
lost four of five, while the Spartans have dropped four in a row. Both need a
win.
Northern Iowa at Creighton (Tuesday): Northern Iowa is falling fast, losing six
of their last seven. Creighton had won five in a row before losing to SIU
Saturday.
UNLV at San Diego State (Tuesday): Interesting MWC contest. UNLV has won seven
of eight to move to 8-3, while SDSU is making a run, winning four in a row.
Indiana at Purdue (Wednesday): Indiana is looking solid lately, winning 8 of 10.
Purdue needs a big win for their resume, as they are firmly on the bubble.
LSU at Mississippi (Wednesday): Both teams are the exact opposite of preseason
expectations. Ole Miss is leading the SEC West, and is on the bubble.
Alabama at Florida (Wednesday): Alabama needs a big road win to boost their
at-large resume, while Florida is looking to lock up an SEC title and #1 seed.
Marquette at DePaul (Wednesday): This is a must-win for DePaul if they want to
stay in the bubble conversation. Marquette needs to bounce back after losing.
Duke at Boston College (Wednesday): Could Duke really lose five in a row? The
Blue Devils are really struggling. BC is sitting in first-place in the ACC.
Washington State at Washington (Wednesday): Intrastate rivalry game. Washington
State is only a half-game out of first, while UW has won five of six.
Providence at Notre Dame (Thursday): Two Big East teams on the bubble.
Providence has lost five of eight, while Notre Dame has lost three of five.
USC at Arizona (Thursday): One of the best games of the week. USC has won five
of seven, and could be an NCAA lock. UA is back in the mix, after 3 straight
wins.
