ELMHURT, Ill.--For the third time this season, Oral Roberts' Caleb Green (Tulsa, Okla.) has been named Mid-Continent Conference men's basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Green shares the award with Valparaiso's Samuel Haanpaa.
In two games last week, Green averaged 18.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists as the Golden Eagles picked up wins over Chicago State (59-53) and Centenary (89-66). Green has scored in double-figures in 49 straight games.
Against Chicago State, Green was instrumental in the Golden Eagles' victory with 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
In the Centenary game, Green nearly recorded his first career triple-double with 22 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. It was his 10th double-double of the season, the 56th effort of his career, and the 31st time he's had 20-or-more points and 10-or-more rebounds in the same game.
The NCAA's active career scoring leader with 2,202 points, Green has helped lead ORU to a 13-7 overall record, seven straight wins and a perfect 5-0 Mid-Con ledger. He and the Golden Eagles put their perfect conference record on the line when they host Oakland, 7:05 p.m., Thursday at Mabee Center.
