Delk Twins to Leave Mississippi State
STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State head men's basketball coach Rick Stansbury announced Monday that Bulldog basketball sophomores Reginald Delk, Richard Delk and Bernard Rimmer have decided to transfer following the spring semester.
"Reginald, Richard and Bernard are all good people from terrific families, and we wish them the very best of luck in their future endeavors," Stansbury said. "All three players are looking to play more minutes and want to play bigger roles than are currently available on this team."
Twin brothers hailing from Jackson, Tenn., sophomores Reginald and Richard Delk started 59 and 40 games, respectively, for the Bulldogs during the past two seasons. One of two State players to have started all 35 games for the 21-14 SEC West Champion Bulldogs this past season, Reginald averaged 9.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in 2006-07. The older of the Delk twins, Richard averaged an improved 5.7 points and 2.4 rebounds per contest as a 33-game starter for the 2006-07 State squad.
Rimmer, a former Grenada High School standout, saw limited action in 33 total games for the Bulldogs in his two seasons on the Starkville campus.
