DeVon Hardin: NBA Draft Profile

May 15th, 2007

NBA Draft: DeVon Hardin

College: California

Class: Junior

Position: C

Height: 6’11”

Weight: 235lbs

Accolades: Honorable Mention All-PAC-10 (06).

Scouting Report: An explosive big man with a NBA-ready body.

Strengths: Very strong frame – NBA body.  Great shotblocker.  Capable low post scorer.  Good jump hook.  Explosive leaper – attacks the rim on offense and swats shots on defense.  Good rebounder.

Weaknesses: Injury prone – had two surgeries in 2006 (shoulder and foot).  Only played 12 games last season due to the injury, and no games since mid December.  Needs to become more of a threat on the offensive end.  Foul prone.

Projected 2007 Draft Range:  Mid second round pick.

Consensus:  After coming off a severely shortened junior season, Hardin’s best bet is to come back to school for his senior year.  A solid, injury free, senior year in college could help propel him into the first round of next year’s draft.
