WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – STANFORD guard Anthony Goods has been named the U.S. Bank Pacific-10 Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for January 8-14.
Goods, a sophomore from Corona, Calif., averaged 24.5 points and 3.5 assists as Stanford defeated Washington and knocked off No. 22 Washington State in overtime. In the 78-77 win over Washington, Goods led the Cardinal with 19 points and dished out four assists. In the 71-68 overtime win over Washington State, Goods matched his career-high with 30 points as he shot 11-of-16 (.688) from the field, including 5-of-8 (.625) from three-point range. His three-pointer with 3.3 seconds remaining in overtime was the deciding basket. He also added three rebounds and three assists as he played all 45 minutes. For the week, he shot 17-of-29 (.586) from the field, 8-of-17 (.471) from three-point range, and 8-of-10 (.800) from the free throw line.
This is the first weekly honor for Goods and Stanford’s 39th Player of the Week all-time.
