Zane Johnson Leaving Arizona
Johnson, a 6-foot-5, 204-pound sophomore guard from Phoenix, Ariz., averaged 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game in 33 games (13 starts) this season. He averaged 19.1 minutes per game.
He connected on 43.1 percent (50-of-116) of his field goal attempts, including 39.6 percent (36-of-91) from three-point range and ranked third on the team with 36 three-point field goals. Johnson set new career highs in assists (31) and steals (14) and ranked second on the club with a 1.41:1 assist:turnover ratio.
In his two-year career, Johnson averaged 3.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game in 48 appearances (13 starts), while shooting 41.5 percent (54-of-130) from the field.
"We wish Zane only the best of luck," said Arizona head coach Sean Miller. "He felt that opportunities would be better for him elsewhere."
